Jon
Bowskill graduated with an Honours Degree in Sport and Exercise from Leeds
Metropolitan University. He
is double certified by the American College of Sports Medicine (A.C.S.M), as
well as by the American Council on Exercise (A.C.E) and the Fellowship of Sports
Masseurs and Therapists (F.S.M.T). He
is currently undertaking an Internship programme at the C.H.E.K. (Corrective
High-performance Exercise Kinesiology) Institute in San Diego, California
He has
worked in health, fitness and rehabilitative care for the past seven years, travelling
extensively in the United Kingdom and around the world both working, and in
search of cutting edge techniques and methods to improve outcomes with his
patients.
During
this time he has specialized in performance programming for many different
populations from elite athletes to pre and post operative spinal care.
His
approach to client evaluation includes detailed postural assessment, length
tension evaluation, range of motion assessment, muscle tension and neurological
testing as well as examination of orthopaedic dysfunction and history. This is
then combined with full movement pattern assessment in order to develop precise
individual exercise prescriptions.
Jon is the Fitness Editor of Men’s Health magazine, and has previously contributed to The Times, The Sunday Times, The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Business. He has also made numerous appearances on national radio and television.
